What: New Riders Night
Where: Bike Newport, 62 Broadway
When: Wednesday May 3rd, 6PM
About: Are you just getting back on your bike after a long time? Never been on a bike but want to give it a try? Let’s get together and talk about any concerns you have and plan a group ride for newbies.
Cost: Free


What: All About Bikes
Where: Florence Gray Center / the Hill Club, 1 York Street
When: Monday, May 17th, 5:30PM and Saturday, May 20th, 4:30PM
About: Come talk bikes! Whether you’re an expert rider or have never biked before, All About Bikes will be a great discussion on everything related to biking in Newport and beyond. Bring your bike if you have one, or try one of ours.

What: Bike and Walk to School Day
Where: Thompson Middle School
When: Wednesday May 10th, 7:30AM
About: Bike Newport staff will be greeting riders and walkers at Thompson Middle School during arrival. All bikers and walkers eligible to win a bike! Want to organize your own Bike to School Day event? Contact us.

What: Full Moon Ride
Where: Bike Newport, 62 Broadway
When: Wednesday May 10th, 8:15PM
About: Join us on our monthly bike ride through Newport, guided by the full moon!

What: Ladies Night at the Bike Garage
Where: Bike Newport, 62 Broadway
When: Thursday May 11th & 25th, 4:30 – 7PM
About: Every other Thursday, the Bike Garage will be an exclusive and encouraging space for female-identifying bicyclists. This night is a time to bring your own bike project to work on with our female instructors, pick out a project to volunteer your help with at the shop, or just to tinker and practice working with the tools. You do not need to have any mechanical knowledge or experience to come – just an interest in learning!

What: Cyclofemme Ride to Celebrate Women & Bicycles
Where: Riverside Park, 50 Aleppo Street, Providence, RI
When: Saturday, May 13th, 10 AM – 1 PM
About: This Mother’s Day weekend, join Women Bike RI and female-identifying bicyclists around the globe as we band together on bikes to set a movement in motion! We’ll be celebrating the power of women and bicycles by riding together from Providence to Wicked Tulips Flower Farm in Johnston.
Cost: $7 to pick tulips, sliding scale to bike


What: Bike to Work Day
Where: Newport City Hall, 43 Broadway
When: Friday, May 19th, All day
About: Today is the day to give biking to work a try! Leave your car at home, hit the saddle, and burn calories – not carbon. Bike to Work Day brings the community together to celebrate bicycling as a fun and healthy way to get to work. Bike with family, friends or colleagues to Bike Newport’s Commuter Breakfast, 7-9AM and end the day with 4PM bike-friendly announcements and a 5PM city group ride.

What: City Biking Class
Where: Bike Newport, 62 Broadway
When: Sunday, May 21st, 1 – 5PM
About: Many people who want to ride more frequently are concerned about riding with cars. Is this you? Would you like to build your confidence while you learn safe road sharing skills? Our city biking classes intend to get you out of the car and into the saddle for local transportation. Join us for a four-hour comprehensive class on city biking. Must haves: a bike, helmet, and basic riding skills.
Cost: $30
