Where will the 2024 10-Spot Ride take us? That’s the question participants wonder each year, right up to the moment they set out on this delightfully unique 10-stop bike ride – to enjoy lovely Newport homes and gardens, tasty food, and lots of music. (Scroll down for a fun video recap.)
Ever since the inaugural 10-Spot in 2020, the event’s locations have been kept mum. The pandemic-era inspiration is now a favorite summer tradition, drawing urban explorers, history buffs, foodies and cyclists from across New England and beyond. If the promise of culinary and sensory samples already whets your appetite, you’re in luck: Sign-ups are underway, and we expect to sell out.

The “Spots”?
Those are the big surprises! We won’t spoil the surprise! But we can promise you they are lovely – and as wonderful and special as the generous hosts who share their properties for this delightful adventure. Past “Spots” have included iconic mansions, lovely downtown inns, classic colonials, stunning sea views, secret gardens, and even a tall ship!
How It Works:
The night before the event, you’ll receive your starting location – one of the 10 Spots. On the day of the event, you’ll check in there, receive your event guide and resusable commemorative cups and flatware – so we can keep waste to a minimum. You can then plan your day while enjoying your first Spot.
You’ll have from 11am to 4pm to enjoy all the day offers, riding from one location to the next, in whatever order you like, and stay at each as long as you like. It times out to about 15-20 minutes/Spot if you want to experience all 10 Spots. At each Spot you’ll enjoy a beautiful location, tasty treats, a refreshing non-alcoholic beverage, and sweet tunes. We strive for lots of variety in all that is offered!
You can ride solo or plan a group ride. If you gather a group, we’ll be sure you all start together. We have lots of soloists and lots of groups each year – some as large as 25!
“It’s really become my favorite event of the summer. It’s wonderful how the 10-Spot Ride brings together fun and beauty in people, food, music, and hidden gem locations – all connected by a delightful bike ride around Newport. Bike Newport does it so well – for the participants and also for the hosts, restaurants, and entertainers. They are thoughtful about variety and options in food and music. When one of my friends got a flat, the volunteers had him back on the road in no time. He said ‘Wow, what a first class experience!’ I so agree!”
