Be Part of the Progress!

July 4, 2026

Every Ride Moves Us Forward

Summer is here, and something exciting is happening across Aquidneck Island.

Every day, more people are choosing to get around by bike.

They’re riding to school. To work. To the beach. To the market. To local businesses, community events, and neighborhood gatherings.

Every ride represents something bigger.

  • A child discovering confidence.
  • A family spending time together.
  • Less traffic.
  • Cleaner air.
  • A healthier community.
  • A stronger local economy.
  • A more connected Aquidneck Island.

This is the progress you’re helping create.

Be Part of the Progress

Bike Newport exists to make bicycling safer, easier, and more accessible for everyone. Through education, advocacy, infrastructure planning, and community partnerships, we’re helping transform biking from an occasional activity into an everyday transportation choice.

This progress is happening because of people like you.

Together, We’ve Built Momentum

Thanks to the support of our community, Bike Newport continues to make meaningful progress on Aquidneck Island and beyond.

Together we:

  • Expanded bicycle safety education into all three island school districts.
  • Updated local bicycle ordinances in partnership with Newport Police to better support safe riding.
  • Became a leader in e-bike education and policy as ridership continues to grow.
  • Advanced demonstration bicycle infrastructure projects in key transportation corridors.
  • Supported feasibility studies to improve bicycle and pedestrian access to the island’s bridges and rail corridor.
  • Partnered with dozens of local businesses, organizations, and events through our growing Get There By Bike initiative.

These aren’t simply accomplishments.

They’re investments in healthier people, stronger communities, and a better quality of life for everyone who lives, works, and visits Aquidneck Island.

Every Gift Moves Us Forward

Every day, we see the impact of this work.

  • A child leaves school knowing how to ride safely.
  • An adult discovers biking is the easiest way to get to work.
  • A visitor experiences Newport from an entirely new perspective.
  • A local business welcomes customers arriving by bike.
  • A family spends less time sitting in traffic—and more time together.

Small moments.

Meaningful change.

Real progress.

Support Bike Newport

Help Keep the Momentum Rolling

This year, demand for Bike Newport’s programs continues to grow.

Schools are asking for more education.

Communities are planning safer streets.

Businesses are embracing bike-friendly transportation.

More people than ever are choosing to ride.

At the same time, charitable giving has been slower than anticipated.

The progress is real — and it all depends on community support.

Bike Newport receives no guaranteed funding. Everything we accomplish is made possible by people who believe in creating a safer, healthier, and more connected community.

Your gift today helps ensure we don’t lose momentum just as transformational opportunities are taking shape.

Every Gift Makes a Difference

Every gift, no matter the size, helps create safer streets, healthier transportation choices, and a more connected Aquidneck Island. Thank you for being part of the progress.

Your gift of $70

helps put a refurbished bicycle into the hands of a new rider, opening the door to safe, affordable transportation.

Your gift of $125

helps bring bicycle safety education into our schools, giving children the skills and confidence to ride safely.

Your gift of $600

helps send a child to Summer Bike Camp for a full week, building confidence, independence, and lifelong healthy habits.

Your gift of $1,500

helps equip instructors and volunteers who will reach hundreds of students and community members throughout the year.

Your gift of $5,000

helps sustain Bike Newport’s year-round education, advocacy, and community programs that make bicycling safer and more accessible across Aquidneck Island.

Leadership gifts of $10,000+

provide critical support for organizational capacity, infrastructure initiatives, advocacy, and long-term community impact. We’d be delighted to talk with you about the difference you’d like to make.

Host a Summer Conversation

One of the best ways to support Bike Newport is to bring people together.

Gather a few friends, neighbors, or colleagues for an informal summer conversation about biking, transportation, and the future of our community.

We’ll bring the conversation.

We’ll share what’s happening, answer questions, hear your ideas, and explore how together we can continue building a more bike-friendly Aquidneck Island.
