Bike Newport is proud to partner with Norman Bird Sanctuary to bring high capacity bike racks, routes, and other helpful information to Beach Bash! Ditch the car and dive into classic beach games, groove to beachy tunes, and enjoy delicious local eats, all while enjoying a beautiful summer evening on Third Beach with friends and family. In doing so, you are decreasing traffic congestion, parking stresses, and contributing to a more healthy, sustainable community.

Coming from out of town? No problem. You can park and leave your car anywhere in Newport and Middletown where long-term parking is permitted (be sure to check signs for restrictions), or you can head straight to Newport’s designated Park & Bike lots. See the suggested routes below!
YMCA to Third Beach – 2.9 miles ~ 15 minutes
Helpful Tips for biking to Third Beach
- Bring LIGHTS, a LOCK, and a HELMET.
- Ride carefully, follow rules of the road, pay extra attention to motorists, and give yourself time to get there safely.
- Newport is known for its history and beauty – less so for the condition of the roads. Watch for pot holes and ruts!
