Avoid the traffic and and enjoy the ride – when you get there by bike!

We ❤️ newportFILM for encouraging folks to bike to the summer series – helping decrease traffic, carbon emissions, and parking stresses for you and the whole community. There will be bike racks right at the entrance to every film, and everyone who bikes will be entered to win a special raffle at every film! NOTE: The route maps we provide are suggestions. You can plan your route using your favorite routing program. Be aware that Newport has MANY one way streets, so your route GOING may be different from your RETURN route. Be sure to have a good headlight and a flashing rear light for your return trip after dark – so you can see and be seen!

HELPFUL TIPS for biking to newportFILM:

• Expect heavy traffic on Newport’s streets. Ride carefully, follow rules of the road, pay extra attention to motorists, and give yourself time to get there safely.
• Bring LIGHTS, a LOCK, and a HELMET. After dark; your lights will make you SAFE and VISIBLE.
• Newport is known for its history and beauty – less so for the condition of the roads. Watch for pot holes and ruts!

PARK & BIKE:

Coming from out of town? No problem. You can park and leave your car anywhere in Newport where long-term parking is permitted (be sure to check signs for restrictions), or you can head straight to “Park & Bike” lots located right off the Pell Bridge and at Newport County YMCA.
