On Sunday, August 30th, participants of the 2026 Citizens Pell Bridge Run are encouraged to ride their bike to Newport’s Gateway Transportation Center – where bike racks will be available and shuttles that take you to the starting line in Jamestown. In doing so, you are decreasing traffic congestion, parking stresses, and contributing to a more healthy, sustainable community.

Because the race now takes place during the height of Newport’s summer season, parking near the shuttles and throughout downtown Newport will be significantly more constrained than participants may be accustomed to.
Participants should expect heavier traffic and longer travel times than in previous years. There is no participant parking available at the race start in Jamestown.
Park & Bike
Coming from out of town? No problem. You can park and leave your car anywhere in Newport where long-term parking is permitted (be sure to check signs for restrictions). Check out more general Park and Ride information HERE. See the routes below!
