Bike Newport is proud to partner with Newport Restoration Foundation to bring high capacity bike racks, routes, and other helpful information to their marquee event, Roam Around Rough Point! Ditch the car and join the community for food, music, and spectacular ocean front views. In doing so, you are decreasing traffic congestion, parking stresses, and contributing to a more healthy, sustainable community.

Coming from out of town? No problem. You can park and leave your car anywhere in Newport where long-term parking is permitted (be sure to check signs for restrictions), or you can head straight to Newport’s designated Park & Bike lots. See the suggested routes below!
Park & Bike to Rough Point – 4.4 miles ~ 25 minutes
YMCA to Rough Point – 4.3 miles ~ 25 minutes
Helpful Tips for biking to Rough Point
- Bring LIGHTS, a LOCK, and a HELMET.
- Ride carefully, follow rules of the road, pay extra attention to motorists, and give yourself time to get there safely.
- Newport is known for its history and beauty – less so for the condition of the roads. Watch for pot holes and ruts!
