Bike to Work becomes “Bike to School” at St. Michael’s

May 23, 2011

St. Michael’s Country Day School in Newport turned Bike to Work Day into a Bike to School Day opportunity  –  How cool is that?!  Bronwyn McDermott, Chair of the St. Michael’s Wellness Committee, shared this report and photos:

We had a great turnout for the St. Michael’s Bike to School Day – at least 53 of our students rode to school with their parents or friends this morning and everyone seemed very happy and excited to be doing so. Big thanks to NPD Officer Jonathan Cortes for ensuring a safe crossing at the intersection of Memorial Blvd and Rhode Island Avenue.  And thank you for the inspiration and the excuse to have this day – hopefully it will lead to many more!
