New signs on Broadway – “Walk Your Bike”

August 9, 2018

Residents of West Broadway Apartments (the Paramount) are happy to see new signs posted by neighbor Bike Newport, reminding people not to ride bicycles on sidewalks. “Be courteous. Walk your bike. Yield to pedestrians.”
The signs also cite the city ordinance 10.72.100 which addresses bicycle operation laws. Look for the signs in the Paramount courtyard and along Broadway. The signs are constructed of flexible aluminum and adhesive. Thanks to the generosity of sign maker Reynolds de Walt, additional signs are available for use around the city. The cost of $50/sign will support bicycle education programs. Contact Bike Newport at info@bikenewportri.org or (401) 619-4900 to request a sign.
