Bike Garage Manager

The Bike Garage Manager oversees Bike Newport’s community bike repair program, inventory, equipment, and the staff and volunteers who deliver bike mechanics education and repair services directly to the community.

The Bike Garage Manager ensures that the work performed in the Bike Garage is of the highest quality, and will consider and recommend programs and methods to grow and optimize community participation and outcomes.

Development Officer

The Development Officer manages major gifts and sponsorships, building lasting relationships with donors who support our mission. You’ll work with the Executive Director to set goals and oversee a portfolio of individual, foundation, and business prospects through every step—from research and cultivation to solicitation and stewardship.

This role involves making face-to-face asks, developing donor strategies and materials, and helping our supporters achieve their philanthropic goals through Bike Newport. You’ll use donor databases and tracking systems to maintain organized stewardship while collaborating with board members and staff on their solicitations. The position also supports our broader development efforts including grants and events.

Success comes through clear communication of our mission, strategic relationship building, and consistent follow-through that energizes both team members and prospects.

Bilingual Greeter

Do you know someone positive, pleasant, enthusiastic, outgoing and bilingual who is looking for a cool job? We’re looking for such a person to be our Greeter and Administrative Assistant. 

This new member of our team will often be the first person our visitors meet, will help run our bike rental program, and will support all of our staff and programs to run smoothly.

Director of Strategic Advancement

The Director of Strategic Advancement ensures all our efforts align with Bike Newport’s vision and goals through effective project management and strong cross-team collaboration. You’ll focus on partnerships, fundraising, and program success while spending roughly half your time overseeing fund development and Ride Island infrastructure advocacy.

This role involves executing our Strategic Plan and developing long-term strategies that advance our mission. You’ll work closely with staff to maintain optimal communication and support between programs, ensuring we meet both our community impact goals and budget targets.

Communications Manager

The Communications Lead elevates Bike Newport and our programs through strategic communication that builds community support and engagement. You’ll create diverse content—videos, blog posts, newsletters, and social media—to increase awareness and participation in our programs, advocacy, and fundraising efforts.

This role involves managing our websites and social media platforms, securing earned media coverage, and exploring new ways to reach our growing community. You’ll collaborate closely with all departments to ensure our message resonates across everything we do.
