Saturday, November 1st, 2025, 9:00am – Noon
Grab your helmets, walking shoes, and sense of adventure — the Sakonnet Coastal Bike + Stroll is back on Saturday, November 1, 2025, from 9 am to 12 pm.
Led by the Island Park Preservation Society, in partnership with Bike Newport, this beloved community event invites everyone to enjoy the scenic Sakonnet shoreline at a slower pace — free from traffic and full of good, family-friendly vibes.
Whether you’re cruising along the waterfront, strolling with neighbors, or just soaking in the salty air, this morning celebration is all about community connection, coastal beauty, and fresh autumn energy.

What to Expect:
- A car-free route with stunning coastal views (same route you love from previous years!)
- Plenty of room to bike, walk, and chat with friends new and old
- Smiles, sunshine, and maybe even a few surprise moments along the way
- Volunteers, we need you too! Arrive at 8:00 am to help keep things running smoothly (roads close at 8:30 am, and the police detail runs until 12:30 pm).
- The road will reopen to vehicles at NOON. While people on bikes may remain on the road as usual, pedestrians and children on bikes must exit the road before that time.
- Helmets are encouraged for all participants and are required up to age 15
Let’s celebrate Island Park’s vibrant community spirit and make this year’s Bike + Stroll the best one yet.

The route includes Park Ave from just after (east of) Mason Ave, Point Road, Hummock Point Road, and Hummocks Ave through (and including) the railroad overpass at Anthony Rd (at the entrance to Common Fence Point), and also including the separated bike lane crossing the Sakonnet River Bridge.

The Sakonnet Coastal Bike & Stroll is made possible with the help volunteers who help keep everything safe and running smoothly. If you are interested in volunteering to support this event, please e-mail
