Bike Newport Visits Boston’s Bike Share

November 18, 2011

A Bike Newport entourage had the pleasure of a tour of “Boston Bikes” with Director Nicole Freedman this past Monday, 11/14.  The group included Bike Newport Committee Members Jimmy Flynn, Bari George and Allison McNally, joined by City Councilor Jeanne Napolitano, Newport This Week Editor Tom Shevlin, Jane Pickens Owner Kathy Staab and International Hostel Owner Merrilee Zellner.

Bike Share is happening everywhere from Paris to DC to Boston and we believe there’s an opportunity to tailor a program for Newport.  Bike Share will help to get residents and visitors out of their cars and onto bicycles – for health, enjoyment, productivity, preservation and reduction of our traffic congestion.  What do you think?  Read Tom’s report here and share your thoughts!
