We’re pleased to ride again with Bike to the Beach for Autism on September 17th – our favorite ride of the year!
We’ve been riding with Bike to the Beach to raise funds and awareness for Autism since 2012. Our work together supports programs in Newport and beyond to ensure that youth with Autism and other developmental challenges will have access to bicycle education and equipment and all the joy, confidence, and healthy living that bicycling brings.
We’re riding with our friends and partners from Bike-On – the company that sells adaptive bicycles for people with special physical and developmental needs. Bike Newport and Bike-On work with intention to ensure that everyone who wants to bike can bike – regardless of mobility, cognition, experience, equipment or location.
Our 63-mile “metric century” ride from Woonsocket to Newport is pretty much the length of Rhode Island. No kidding. Where else can you ride the entire state in time for lunch (?!) – ok a late lunch – but seriously L’il Rhody is LITTLE!
Bike Newport helps people of all abilities, Bike-On provides adaptive equipment, and – with your help – Bike to the Beach supports our programs. Please help us to reach our fundraising goal by donating – or riding! It’s great fun and more supporters and riders are very appreciated.
Students with Autism and a range of other challenges have a great time at Bike Newport – getting greasy working with bikes – maintaining, fixing, and riding – having fun, growing their confidence, and developing many important skills along the way. This ride is our chance to elevate the great work of Bike to the Beach and to help raise awareness and funding for our programs.
Bike Newport and Bike-On partner so EVERYONE can enjoy the fun of being on bicycles! Your support of our ride helps us to provide services to those individuals dealing with Autism every day.
Did you know that …
– Every 21 minutes a child is diagnosed with Autism
– Autism is the 2nd most prevalent developmental disorder in the world, but receives less federal funding than any other disorder affecting children.
We appreciate your support! Thanks in advance for your contribution.
Please support our efforts, our programs, and Bike to the Beach for Autism.
PLEASE DONATE – OR JOIN THE RIDE – HERE. THANK YOU!
