Julian Bessinger is a Newport native and enthusiastic cyclist. Before joining Bike Newport, he taught English in Vietnam and France and later returned to Rhode Island to support education through roles at Breakthrough Providence, the Equity Institute, and the Rhode Island Department of Education. Along the way, he’s seen how bikes and active transportation can advance student success, public health, climate resilience, and everyday joy. Outside of work, Julian enjoys exploring natural spaces in and beyond cities, tinkering with bikes, and spending time with his family.
