We’re looking for our Communications and Advocacy Expert

Do you know an energized bike-friendly communications expert? Someone who has a creative and feisty command of social media? someone who likes to make the case for things they believe in? We’re looking for that person!

This new member of our team will be a creative writer experienced in communications (social media, journalism, and graphic design) and advocacy (community outreach and engagement). They will bring a culturally-competent lens to our work to build equity in our organization and our community. They will know and love bicycles as a transportation and social solution, will want to engage people in bicycle friendly progress, and will be experienced in using social media and other communications methods to achieve these goals. Command of Spanish is a highly desirable skill for this position. 

Our Communications and Advocacy Manager will ensure Bike Newport’s values, brand, and voice in all communications and advocacy efforts. Valued traits for this role include: organized, flexible, energetic, creative, self-directed, team-oriented, ability to multitask. Professional skills should include creative writing, graphic design, and social media management. Technical knowledge should include: Microsoft Office, WordPress, Mailchimp, Eventbrite, Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, Canva, Asana, Illustrator, Photoshop, and Hootsuite.
