Whether you’re pedaling to a concert, a film, a herd of elephants, a seafood spectacular, or a sunset sail, you can get there by bicycle! June 27 – Sept 5: newportFILM OUTDOOR
Ride your Bike to all 14 locations!
NewportFILM’s spectacular outdoor screenings are a summer-long weekly favorite for visitors and locals alike. The series begins on June 27th and runs through September 5th. Each week brings a new documentary shown at one of Aquidneck Island’s many scenic locations. See the full film lineup. You can bypass traffic and parking hassles and have a sweet ride when you bike to newportFILM! There will be bike parking at all of the film locations. And did we mention that all films are FREE? REMEMBER YOUR LIGHTS!!! It will be dark on your ride home. Keep an eye on @bikenewportri and @newportFILM for bike routes.

July 4 – Sept 7: The Great Elephant Migration
As the very first stop on their United States tour, The Great Elephant Migration has come to Newport!
Over 100 life-size wooden elephants can now be viewed at Rough Point, The Breakers, Salve Regina University, and the Great Friends Meeting House creating a once in a lifetime experience that is not to be missed. Read more about the Great Elephant Migration

Please note that access to the elephants at Rough Point, Salve Regina University, and the Great Friends Meeting House are free to all. Access at The Breakers mansion is included with ticketed entry to the Breakers.
All Summer Long: Visit Historic Fort Adams

It’s no secret that biking to Fort Adams is the best way to get to the Folk & Jazz Festivals – just ask one of the 1600 people who biked each day last year! People on bikes break music festival records every year at Newport Folk – when 16-18% of all attendees arrive by bicycle. Then we break our own records at Newport Jazz as we see numbers climb each year – trying to catch up to Folk!
HERE is all you need to know to bike to Folk and Jazz! festivals. Thanks to the Newport Police Department, there are several safety improvements to the bike routes this year – so please click through to be prepared.
