Harvest Fair, October 4th and 5th, 10am – 5pm
Bring the whole family to celebrate the harvest season with Norman Bird Sanctuary. This award-winning event is a fall favorite in New England. Challenge friends to a sack race, compete in the Home & Garden Competition, peruse the Crafter’s Tent, enjoy live music, and so much more during this weekend of festivities for the whole family.
Get There By Bike
Pedal right up to Norman Bird Sanctuary. Bike racks are conveniently located just to the right of the Welcome Center, along the perimeter of the gravel parking lot. After your ride, you can relax at the picnic tables at Norman Bird Sanctuary’s nearby orchard and grab a picnic lunch or a quick rest before your hike. Take advantage of the free water-filling station located just outside the restrooms. People on bikes are welcome to the Norman Bird Sanctuary – but please park your bike in front and respect the trails.
Norman Bird Sanctuary and Bike Newport are teaming up to provide accessible, high capacity bike parking for the Harvest Fair. “Think green” by participating in this “Get There By Bike” event! Read on for more information regarding the event, bike parking, maps, and routes.
Bike parking for the event will be accessible in the main parking lot right outside of the Welcome Center.

Helpful Tips for biking to the Norman Bird Sanctuary
- Bring LIGHTS, a LOCK, and a HELMET. Your lights will make you SAFE and VISIBLE.
- Ride carefully, follow rules of the road, pay extra attention to motorists, and give yourself time to get there safely.
- Newport is known for its history and beauty – less so for the condition of the roads. Watch for pot holes and ruts!
