You’ll visit 10 lovely locations where you’ll sample tasty delicacies and enjoy live music – the Spots range from secret gardens to majestic mansions and seaside splendor. All Month: Community Bike Garage
Stop by the Community Bike Garage any weekday and you can work on your bike with our skilled mechanics and volunteers – to maintain your bike and help restore bikes for our community! The Community Bike Garage, supported by People’s Credit Union, is a welcoming place to learn new skills, connect with fellow riders, volunteer, and get your bike in shape for summer miles.
All Month: Bike to NewportFILM Outdoors — Every Thursday
We ❤️ newportFILM for encouraging folks to bike to the summer series – helping decrease traffic congestion, carbon emissions, and contributing to a more sustainable, healthy community. There will be bike racks right at the entrance to every film.
All Month: Support our Bike to the Beach Ride
Team Bike Newport will be riding in the 2026 Bike To The Beach Ride – from Woonsocket to Sachuest Beach (100km Metric Century) to support advocacy efforts and programs that benefit the autism and disABILITY community. Every dollar you contribute directly supports Bike Newport’s education programs and equipment for our super special students who love coming to Bike Newport! Come ride with us and have great fun while you support our awesome educational programs for kids with autism, or simply donate to support our efforts – thank you!
Thursday August 6th: FREE You Have the Power E-Bike Class
Join us the first Thursday of every month at Bike Newport HQ (62 Broadway) from 5:30–7:00 PM. E-bikes are a great way to commute, explore, and get out on the road — our free classes give new and returning riders the skills to ride safely and confidently.
Friday August 7th: Bike to Movies in Miantonomi
Bike to Miantonomi Park at 8:00 PM to enjoy outdoor movies, hosted by the Newport Health Equity Zone. Bike parking at all events!
Sunday August 9th: Bike to the Rhode Island Philharmonic at Rosecliff
Bike to Rosecliff from 5:00–8:30 PM to enjoy Rhode Island’s premier symphonic orchestra. Advance registration is required.
Saturday August 22nd, 8–11 AM: “Pliking” with Bike Newport and Eastern Rhode Island Conservation District
Join Bike Newport and ERICD for a coastal cleanup ride that actually gets things done. You’ll bike, stop at key spots, grab litter, and keep moving. Simple, social, and productive.
Thursday August 27th: Full Moon Ride
Gather at 5:45 PM with the ride leaving at 6:15 PM under the Sturgeon Moon. There’s nothing like experiencing Newport’s breathtaking coastline by bike under the full moon. Registration is required.
Thursday August 27th: Community Open House
Stop by City Council Chambers from 5:30–8:30 PM to see the draft goals and policies for the Comprehensive Plan Update and weigh in on the vision for the city.
